Kitchen time

Say: Now it’s kitchen time! Let’s go to the kitchen and look for some smelly- tasty fruit! Let’s walk to the kitchen! Hold the baby gently under his arms and tenderly swing/walk/carry him to the kitchen. Make the walk fun. Sing (ring a ring of roses) while walking with him….say: here we are. This is our kitchen where we can see food and drinks, learn to cook, and eat yummy food! We can learn nutrition too! Now let’s see what kind of fruit we will find in the fruit bowl on the counter top! Reach out and bring some plums! Hold up the fruit and say:” plum”! Show it to the baby and say “plum! Plum!” .Plums have soft and smooth skin. Its pulp is juicy, succulent and light blue in color. Plums have sweet and tart taste with pleasant aroma! (While talking to the baby, keep passing his hands on the fruit, put it from one hand to another, make it accessible and touchable for the baby) Hold up the fruit and say:”blue!” show it to the baby and say:”blue! Blue! ”plum is blue!”Fresh plums are a moderate source of ”Vitamin A” and “Beta- carotene”.”Vitamin A” is essential for good eye sight. Consumption of natural fruits rich in”Vitamin A” protects from lung and oral cavity cancers. Plums are full of “antioxidants” that have been shown to slow the development of Alzheimer’s disease and prevent brain cell breakdown. Plums are high in carbohydrates, low in fat and calories. They are great for relieving constipation and digestive problems since they are filled with dietary fiber! Plums contain”potassium” that helps manage high blood pressure and reduce the risk of stroke. They also contain “Vitamin K” which opposes unnecessary blood clotting all around the body. So this maintains good blood pressure by which heart rate stays constant. Plums are rich in “Vitamin c” which protects the body from infectious elements. Plums also possess anti-inflammatory properties and other benefits for your body as well. Take a plum in your hand and touch the baby’s nose and say: nose! Touch the other parts of the face commenting on them: head, forehead, brows, eyes, hands, fingers, chest, tummy, waist, legs, feet . Put the baby in the seat. Approach the plum next to his nose and say: smell it now, Mmm! Plum is savory!! Touch the baby’s face. Say: soft ! Put the baby in the seat. Cut some plums into slices and put them in a bowl in front of the baby. The baby will put his hand in the bowl and start touch and mix them, say: juicy and fleshy! Let him play with berries and mix them together. He will surely squish these fleshy fruits( the baby will get excited and interested while playing especially when he feels the texture of the plums, he will try to put a smashed small piece in his mouth in order to taste it, always supervise the baby while eating to make sure that he is safe!) Let him do it by himself until he gets tired or not interested. Provide the rest time.
