Kitchen time

Say : Now it’s kitchen time! Let’s go to the kitchen and look for some smelly-tasty fruits ! Let’s walk to the kitchen! Hold the baby gently under his arms and tenderly swing/walk/carry him to the kitchen. Make the walk fun .Sing (Hey! Diddle..Diddle the cat and the fiddle) while walking with him….say: here we are. This is our kitchen where we can see food and drinks, learn to cook , and eat Yummy food! We can learn nutrition too! Now let’s see what kind of vegetable we can find in the fridge! Reach out and bring a yellow pepper ! Hold up the pepper and say :” yellow pepper”! Show it to the baby and say “ yellow pepper! Yellow pepper! ” Yellow pepper is a wonderful combination of tangy taste and crunchy texture. Yellow pepper is mild spicy ,hollow ,having thick flesh and contains seeds near the stem end( point to the stem in order to show it to the baby) held in place by a thick soft membrane. Hold up the yellow pepper and say: “yellow!” Show it to the baby and say: “yellow, yellow”! This pepper is yellow! ( While talking to the baby, keep passing his hands on the fruit ,put it from one hand to another ,make it accessible and touchable for the baby ).This vegetable is low in calories and has zero fat and a good supply of vitamins and minerals . It is a rich source of “Vitamin C” .”Vitamin C” helps your body make and repair in your tissues and keeps your bones and teeth healthy. Yellow peppers are also good sources of (Carotenoids), which are the pigments that give these peppers their bright color. Your body converts “Beta-carotene” to “Vitamin A”, which is vital for good vision, and strong immune system and healthy skin . These peppers also contain fiber, protein, and iron. So as you can see that yellow pepper is a source of great health benefits. Take the yellow pepper in your hand and touch the baby’s nose and say: nose! Touch the other parts of the face commenting on them: head, forehead, brows, eyes, hands, fingers, chest, tummy, waist, legs, feet . Put the baby in the seat . Approach the pepper next to his nose and say: smell it now ,Mmm! Yellow pepper smells spicy ! Touch the baby’s face . Say : soft ! Put the baby in the seat . Cut the yellow pepper in slices and put them in a bowl . The baby will put his hand in the bowl in order to touch and mix them say : Wet! Wet!! Guide him by playing and mixing the slices together.( the baby will get excited and start yelling while playing especially when he feels the soaking texture of the yellow pepper!) Let him do it by himself until he gets tired or not interested . Provide the rest time.
