Kitchen time

Say : Now it’s kitchen time! Let’s go to the kitchen and look for some smelly-tasty fruits ! Let’s walk to the kitchen! Hold the baby gently under his arms and tenderly swing/walk/carry him to the kitchen. Make the walk fun .Sing (head and shoulders knees and toes) while walking with him….say : here we are. This is our kitchen where we can see food and drinks, learn to cook , and eat Yummy food! We can learn nutrition too! Now let’s see what kind of fruit we can find in the fruit bowl on the counter top! Reach out and bring a banana ! Hold up the banana and say :” banana”! Show it to the baby and say “ banana, banana”! Banana is the most popular fresh fruit in all over the world. It’s a creamy and delicious long thick edible fruit that comes with a safety envelop! Hold up the fruit and say: “yellow!” Show it to the baby and say: “yellow, yellow”! Banana is yellow! ( While talking to the baby, keep passing his hands on the fruit ,put it from one hand to another ,make it accessible and touchable for the baby ).Banana is composed of soft, easily digestible flesh made up of simple sugars that upon consumption instantly replenish energy and revitalizes the body. Bananas are known to reduce swelling, aid in weight loss, strengthen the nervous system and help with production of white blood cells, all due to the high level of “Vitamin B6” that bananas contain. Bananas are good source of “Potassium”, an essential mineral for maintaining normal blood pressure and heart function, and promote bone health. Bananas are rich in the soluble fiber “Pectin” that assists healthy digestion and eases out constipation. Also bananas have “Antacid effect” that protects against stomach ulcers. Evidently, Bananas are a healthy source of “ fiber, potassium, vitamin B6, vitamin c, and various antioxidant and phyto nutrients” . Take the banana in your hand and touch the baby’s nose and say: nose! Touch the other parts of the face commenting on them: head, forehead, brows, eyes, hands, fingers, chest, tummy, waist, legs, feet . Put the baby in the seat . Approach the banana next to his nose and say , smell it now ,Mmm! Banana smells appealing ! Touch the baby’s face . Say : soft ! Put the baby in the seat . Peel the banana, remove the skin and cut it in slices and put them in a bowl . The baby will put his hand in the bowl in order to touch and mix them say : soft and mush!!!! Guide him by playing and mixing the slices together.( the baby will get excited and start yelling while playing especially when he feels the slimy texture of the banana!) Let him do it by himself until he gets tired or not interested . Provide the rest time.
