Kitchen time

Say : Now it’s kitchen time! Let’s go to the kitchen and look for some smelly-tasty legumes ! Let’s walk to the kitchen! Hold the baby gently under his arms and tenderly swing/walk/carry him to the kitchen. Make the walk fun .Sing (Hickory Dickory Dock) while walking with him….say : here we are. This is our kitchen where we can see food and drinks, learn to cook , and eat Yummy food! We can learn nutrition too! Now we are going to open the kitchen cabinet and get some legumes! Reach out and bring the glass jar of chickpeas! Hold up some chick peas and say :” chick peas”! Show them to the baby and say: “ Chickpeas, chickpeas ” . Chickpeas ,belong to the legume family . Chickpeas are round, rough, slightly crunchy when they are cooked with nutty flavor. Chickpeas are tan. Look at the color, beige, beige! Chickpeas are beige.( While talking to the baby, keep passing his hands on the legumes ,put them from one hand to another ,make it accessible and touchable for the baby ).Chickpeas can be used as whole in salads, or ground up to make the delicious Arabian dish “Hummus”. Chick peas is a rich source of “dietary fiber” that helps keep your colon healthy. Fiber helps soften stool to fight constipation. Chick peas like other legumes are prized for their” high protein” content. Protein is an important component of every cell in the body. Hair and nails are mostly made of protein. Protein is an important building block of bones, muscles , skin ,and blood. These legumes also contain Vitamins and minerals and significantly “Manganese and” Folate” or “VitaminB-9” The mineral “Manganese” helps support bone development and wound healing. “folate” or “Vitamin B-9”,aids in new cell growth and brain cell communication. Take some “chick peas” in your hand and touch the baby’s nose and say: nose .Touch the other parts of the face commenting on them: head, forehead, brows, eyes, hands, fingers, chest, tummy, waist, legs, feet . Put the baby in the seat . Approach the legumes next to his nose and say , smell it now ,Mmm! chickpeas smells dry ! Touch the baby’s face. Say : It’s rough ! Put the baby in the seat . Put some Chick peas in a bowl . Take the baby’s hand in your hand and help him touch and mix them say : rough ! rough ! Guide him by playing and mixing the seeds together.( the baby may get excited and start yelling while playing and listening to the rattle of the seeds ,he may take a seed in his hand and approach it to his mouth ,So you have to watch him carefully!) Let him do it by himself until he gets tired or not interested . Provide the rest time.
