Take 2 oranges and a baby plastic spoon. Cut one orange is half. Say we cut the orange in two equal parts. One half is the same as another one. Take 1 cut piece. Say this is a half of the orange. Put the spoon below the orange. Say now this is the whole orange. It is not cut. It is not a piece. It is a whole fruit. We will put it beneath the imaginary line. Put the whole orange under the spoon. Point to the half of the orange and say: half of (point to the whole orange) the orange! Point several time to the half and the whole and name them.
