Tall versus short

Place 2 objects in front of the baby: tall and short. For example: build a tall tower from 15 lego blocks and a short one from 5 lego blocks. Talk about each object: name it, explain its purpose, and describe the opposite attribute. For example: point to the first tall tower. Say: this is a tall tower. People build tall towers to store water, use them as electricity poles or show ships that sail in the sea signs. Look at this tower: it is tall! Place your hand with open palm facing downwards at the bottom of the tower and slowly slide it along the tower to its top. Say: Tall!

Then point to another short tower. Say: this is a tower, too. It is short. People may use it for climbing, storing things, and as lookout place. Place your hand with open palm facing downwards at the bottom of the tower and slowly slide it along the tower to its top. Say: Short! Short and tall are the opposites. Place your right hand on the Tall and left hand on the short tower. Say: tall tower – short tower.
