Hold up a spinach leaf and say: “dark green!” Spinach has the darkest green color among these vegetables!” Finally, point to the cucumber and say: “cucumber!” Cucumber is one of the most popular salad vegetables. It is prized for its refreshing flavor and moisture rich flesh. Point to the vegetable and say: “Green! This is a light green vegetable!” Green is the color of balance and harmony. It is the color of growth, the color of spring, of renewal and rebirth! Pour green food coloring into four small shallow bowls.(By adding some milk drops we obtain light green color. For lighter green use more drops of milk. Now, to obtain dark green color, add one black drop. Finally for a darker color use two black drops). Hold the first bowl. Show it to the baby. Say:” light green” Hold the second bowl; approach it to the baby and say” lighter green”. Take the third bowl. Show the color to the baby. Say:”dark green”. Take the forth bowl. Show it to the baby. Say:” darker green”. Say: Now we will make an amazing design with these colors.”Put a white paper in front of the baby, give him a cotton ball and in the other hand hold the light green bowl take your baby’s hand in your hand and put it in the bowl then put the bowl aside and help the baby print on the paper by pressing gently on his hand. (Repeat the same procedures to apply the rest of colors)
