15 yellow 5 blue

Prepare in advance 15 yellow and 5 blue cubes
Make 2 groups of yellow and blue cubes. One group should consist of 15 yellow cubes. Another group should consist of 5 blue cubes. The cubes in the groups should be scattered in a random order, not put in a straight line or row. The two groups should be located away from each other to make them distinctive groups but not too far from each other so that the baby can see two groups in one location. Smile and say: Baby, which group do you thing is larger and which one is smaller? Let’s make predictions! I think group 1 (place your hand above it) is larger. Now we can check it out. We will put each group in a tower. Start putting yellow cubes in one tower, counting: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, .., 15. Say: There are 15 (show 15: first show 10 fingers and then 5) cubes in this group. Now we will build another tower with blue next to the yellow one. Start putting the blue cubes, counting: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Say: There are 5 (show 5 fingers) cubes in this group. Place your hand over the first group. Say: here are 15 cubes. Place your hand over the second group. Say: and here are 5 cubes. The yellow tower is higher than the blue one. The blue tower is shorter than the red one. That means that yellow cubes are more than blue ones.
