Say : Now it’s kitchen time! Let’s go to the kitchen and look for some smelly-tasty spice ! Let’s walk to the kitchen! Hold the baby gently under his arms and tenderly swing/walk/carry him to the kitchen. Make the walk fun .Sing (Here we go looby-loo) while walking with him….say: here we are. This is our kitchen where we can see food and drinks, learn to cook, and eat Yummy food! We can learn nutrition too! Now let’s see what kind of spice we will find in our kitchen cabinet! Reach out and bring the glass jar of “Turmeric”! Hold up the jar and say :” turmeric”! Show it to the baby and say “ turmeric! turmeric!” Turmeric has a peppery, warm and bitter flavor and a mild fragrance slightly reminiscent of orange and ginger! Turmeric is used as a condiment, healing remedy and textile dye! Hold up the jar and say: “orange” show it to the baby and say: “orange!” Turmeric is orange! ( While talking to the baby, keep passing his hands on the jar ,He will get attracted to the color, put it from one hand to another ,make it accessible and touchable for the baby ). Turmeric has been used as a spice and medical herb. It contains compounds with medical properties. The most important compound in turmeric is “Curcuma” that has powerful “Anti- inflammatory effects and is a very strong “Antioxidant”! It Is also an excellent source of “Vitamin C” and “Fiber”! Turmeric contains ”Fatty acids” like”omega3” and “omega6”. These fatty acids enhance brain function, reduce inflammation, keep arteries clear and improve your body response to “insulin”! Turmeric is very rich in” iron”. Without “iron”, your body’s red cells will deplete, causing weakness and extreme fatigue! Turmeric is helpful in lowering cholesterol counts, protecting the heart and even preventing Alzheimer’s disease. So, as you can see “turmeric” protects and cures our body from lots of diseases .Take a pinch of turmeric in your hand and touch the baby’s nose and say: nose! Touch the other parts of the face commenting on them: head, forehead, brows, eyes, hands, fingers, chest, tummy, waist, legs, feet . Put the baby in the seat . Approach the termeric next to his nose and say: smell it now ,Mmm! Termeric smells fragrant ! Touch the baby’s face . Say : soft ! Put the baby in the seat . put a handful of turmeric in a bowl . The baby will directly put his hand in the bowl in order to touch and mix them say : soft ! Guide him by playing and mixing the spice together.( the baby will get excited and start yelling while playing especially when he feels the soft texture of the spice, now he will try to put his hand in his mouth in order to taste, so you have to keep an eye on him!) Let him do it by himself until he gets tired or not interested . Provide the rest time .
